I would say preference to alphabetical, as that's sort of the standard, don't assume I did anything with method in mind, just madness. I don't really think there is an order to how I put the characters or things, I think its mostly just the order they were in on the cast page and moving some around. I don't really know how to reply to the talk topic, so hopefully this works.. --Pastutopia (talk) 09:52, 16 July 2018 (PDT)

If we use , we get an automatically generated alphabetic list.  We can then put in the text for the category page itself a list of characters with short blurbs in whatever order we want.  Special:MostLinkedPages will show off how frequently the various characters are talked about - it apparently counts each page at most once, regardless of how many links to the other page are on that page.  The way I've been doing transcripts, it counts character mentions in comic in addition to appearances, but of course it automatically also counts mentions elsewhere on the wiki, so I don't see that as much additional skew.  Though it will certainly beef up Biana's numbers.  It would be nice if we could somehow tag a link as indicating it was a character appearance so we can get an actual appearance count and actual appearance listings.  But what we have there isn't bad.

Cast question: Would it be a good idea to tag unknown characters with a unique to the character unknown number?  For example, the guy on Chapter 0 Page 11 could be Unknown001.  This would give us a place to write up things about the person, and make references to them from other places.  When they're finally identified, that page can be renamed based on their character name, which apparently replaces it with a page that points to that page.  I don't think I renamed an already linked to page, so I don't know if we would need to manually update all of those references, but using Special:WhatLinksHere would make it relatively easy to do if needed. --Tgape (talk)

I think trying to tag all the unknown characters might be too hard, there are going to end up a huge number of them. Maybe just call them by their role? In this case "Unknown IDS operative?". I have organized the secondary cast members by alphabetical, but it does not seem right to do that with the main cast. Thoughts? I have also created a category page for the cast as suggested, and added that tag to all the cast pages. --Amaranth (talk) 09:54, 2 August 2018 (PDT)

A bit of a spoiler to have PastUtopia listing who the major/minor characters are.  They aren’t all what I would have guessed.

The one that stands out to me is Ryn Koko being a main character. I would guess he is at best a secondary character so far. --Amaranth (talk) 12:21, 19 July 2018 (PDT)

I personally have the feeling that Ryn is a major character in the world, but a minor character in this story.  He's not exactly the hero of another story that Nathan is.  But certainly from the perspective of the story of Avon, he's a main character.  But this isn't the story of Avon.

That said, if you're looking for problems in PastUtopia's cast page, I think you find better examples on the secondary characters and unlisted characters portions.  Ikirium Avon was a secondary character at the time the cast pages were made the way they are now.  Have we even seen him since?  Tokiwa is also listed as a secondary character, though we get less from this listing than we do from even ???'s listing.  I don't actually recall Tokiwa ever being in the strip.  I'm sure the character has been, but it's a far cry from a secondary character.  ??? had an introductory scene establishing that she existed and was also interested in the job Peter got Miko to take.  She showed up for a few strips as Miko's check and balance, but we haven't seen her since as far as I'm aware.  Then there's Biana and Sophie.  Sophie at least gets a mention in the background characters section, on Atter's entry.  Biana, who currently seems to be the most significant background character of the strip, nothing.

All of this said, I personally feel that the cast should actually go on a cast page.  Specifically, .  This might seem kind of silly, since most of the characters will be getting their own pages.  However, as we are beginning to see, the true number of people in the cast is huge, and this will very easily overwhelm the rest of the main page otherwise.  Just my $0.03 (increased for inflation - opinions were two cents long before I was born.  Most people's opinions are probably worth over 5 cents by now, but I talk a lot.) --Tgape (talk)

Editing Questions

Should things be listed alphabetically, or by order of appearance, or number of appearances. I did order of appearance for "World Information"... which is probably the same as number of appearances... but both those things will take time to do for the other lists. Or we could just leave PastUtopia's original order alone. --WestleyRoberts (talk) 08:33, 16 July 2018 (PDT)

I would say preference to alphabetical, as that's sort of the standard, don't assume I did anything with method in mind, just madness. If we use, we get an automatically generated alphabetic list.

For example, the guy on [| Chapter 0 Page 11] could be Unknown001.
