Panel 1: Peter Kepler, frontal view, head to 2/5 of the way down his arm, right shoulder and half of his left shoulder. His light gray shirt collar is open enough to see the top of his sternum.

Peter: Given that it's two in the morning, I don't know if it would really be dinner at this point.

You know there is a food court in the basement, right?

Though that probably closed... oh, eight hours ago.

Panel 2: Kalisto Summers, still wearing her dark gray shirt. She's presumably seated with her elbows on a table. Her right hand is resting on her left, and her chin is just behind that. She appears to be slouching to do this.

Kalisto: You're stalling, Peter...

It's not that complicated a question. You don't need to think about it this hard.

Panel 3: Peter, in profile, his head jutting slightly forward. We see about as much of his left arm as we saw of his right in panel 1.

Peter: Total complexity is a path of probabilistic events.

Even if a data point itself is simple, if the placement of that data point in the overall schema is irregular, the plotting of that point is inherently complicated.

Panel 4: Kalisto, mostly the same pose as panel 2, but she's not slouching now.

Kalisto: Look, I'm not going to pretend that I'm not annoyed with you, or that I'm not probably going to stay somewhat annoyed with you.

... but you are the root of pretty much every investigation task I have, between Bridgepoint, Whirlpool, Emmi, and kicking Biana's face in.

This means I'm going to have to work with you, and that means I'm going to have to do something besides just get angry whenever I see your face.

Panel 5: Peter's face and shoulders.

Peter: Right, but in this case you're asking me out on a date.

Panel 6: Kalisto's face and shoulders.

Kalisto: The brilliant powers of deduction feared by entire worlds at work, there. Yes, Peter, I'm asking you out on a date.

Panel 7: Peter's face and shoulders.

Peter: There's going to be a time when the I.D.S. gets serious about hunting me down, you know.

The warrant out for me isn't just for show.

Panel 8: Kalisto, face to elbows.

Kalisto: Peter, they shot a H.V.W. strike at you from one of the most powerful weapons in their arsenal in what amounts to a war crime.

I would hazard a guess that they are already fairly serious about it.

Panel 9: Kalisto, standing. Face to waist on her left, to hip on her right.

Kalisto: It's not like Arron is going to try to kill you, and given that, while maybe I'll try to arrest you at some point, we both can hazard a guess it's not going to take.

So really, that's hardly a major problem.

Panel 10: Peter's face and shoulders. He looks a little annoyed.

Peter: ... That's one way of looking at it.

Well, I suppose I can't leave you without a way to get food for dinner.

Panel 11: Naomi Atarah, face to elbows, and Mium F5, face to right elbow, right 3/4ths of him. They remain in their damaged and soiled clothing.

Naomi: Hmm, weren't we going to go pick up Peter? He can't get home without us...

Mium: There's been a change of plans. Miss Summers will take care of that.

Naomi: Summers-? Huh, Okay. So... that means we have the rest of the evening free?

Panel 12: Mium, face to collar.

Mium: From a point of view of scheduling, that is true. I would note, though, Miss Naomi, that as I don't believe you are going to go to class...

... you may want to make up for the sleep you are going to lose from missing your nap by actually sleeping at night.

Panel 13: Naomi, face to collar.

Naomi: Nah, I'll find something to nap through. Sleep is mostly for skipping boring things.

Say... the Consul reminded me of a sport I haven't played in a while...

... and these clothes are already wrecked.
